About Saint Stephen’s

Watercolor: the Saint Stephen's campus

In 1970, a group of community leaders in Bradenton, Fla., proposed the creation of a school focused on high academic standards and committed to small class sizes. That dream quickly became Saint Stephen’s Episcopal School, and the unique traditions and standards of excellence are as strong today as when first visualized by the school's founders. Students are well prepared for college through a rigorous academic program, and well prepared for life, embedded with strong values of integrity, responsibility, and respect.

Our purpose, our promise, and the pledges we hold ourselves to: “Every child will be known and every child will be valued” — with a commitment to Excellence, Respect, and Community. Read more about what we stand for . . .

Episcopal Identity

Saint Stephen’s is an Episcopal school — but that heritage is a foundation, not a membership. Chapel anchors the week, and families of every faith, and of none, belong here. See what our Episcopal identity means in practice, and what it does not require . . .

A Culture of Kindness

Careers at SSES

We're teachers, coaches, and staff who want to know students by name — and be known in turn. Saint Stephen’s is an equal-opportunity employer.

Giving

Your support sustains small classes, signature programs, financial assistance, facilities, faculty professional development and so much more. Every gift matters — and every gift impacts the quality of the experience for students.
