Where Creativity Meets Discipline
At Saint Stephen’s, the arts are not an embellishment; they are a core discipline. Starting at age four, every child is given both a brush and a spotlight. We believe the courage to present an idea, whether painted in watercolor or sung in a soprano line, develops the intellect and character needed to solve complex challenges.
Our faculty of working artists, musicians, and directors guide students through foundational techniques to advanced conservatory-level studies, preparing them for auditions, portfolios, and a lifetime of appreciation.
Visual Arts
From raw clay pinch pots in Pre-K to advanced photography portfolios in the Upper School, students work in purpose-built studios under the guidance of professional artists.
Our curriculum covers drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, and graphic design, culminating in annual gallery exhibitions and portfolio reviews.
Music Performance
It starts with the pulse of world music drumming in Lower School, and progresses to formal strings, band, and percussion ensembles.
Students perform regularly on campus at special events, travel to regional competitions and evaluations, and learn not only their chosen instrument, but the collaboration and precision of group performance.
Theatre Production
Every student is invited to find their spot in the light. Our theatre program offers performance, directing, set design, and technical stagecraft opportunities.
With multiple productions at all grade levels each year, including full-scale musicals, dramatic plays, and student-run shows, our stage is a lab for collaborative confidence.
We are a school that supports the arts. If you want to take band, fine arts or theater, you can. There are many programs across the country that do not offer that. Saint Stephen’s does and values it.
