Overview

Saint Stephen's has a strong record of sending highly prepared students to colleges throughout the country and abroad, and a majority of our students attend college with merit scholarships.

Students benefit from personalized attention beginning in Middle School with our annual 8th Grade College Expo, followed by individualized information throughout high school. The College Counseling Office supports students and their parents as they navigate the college search, application process, and transition to college. We facilitate college selection by maintaining focus on the needs of the student and their family, while empowering students to take ownership over their college admission process.

Throughout high school, counselors spend significant time with students in various grade-level appropriate activities and meetings, encouraging them to explore the characteristics of colleges that will best satisfy their ambitions, talents, and personality.

Spring College Expo

Students take part in a college fair setting and learn about the alma maters of middle school faculty and staff, as well as the college destinations of select seniors. Each year, eighth graders are exposed to 20+ colleges and universities from around the globe. They hear from current seniors on the best ways to set themselves up for success once they reach the Upper School.

Course Plan

Students begin to establish a strong academic foundation, map out their four-year core academic subjects and "signature" academic interests.

Grade 10

Map the courses and tests.

Course Plan

Students continue to progress in their core academic coursework, refine their three-year plan and Honors/AP class tracks, and evaluate Signature Program or Graduation Distinction pathways they may want to pursue.

Go deep and build the list.

Students execute their two-year, upper-level course plan, and finalize participation choices in Signature Programs or Graduation Distinction paths.

Students finalize their personal narrative, all essay revisions, supplemental essays, and meet application submission deadlines.
