How Admission Works

Five easy steps, in the order your family will live them: visit, apply, shadow day/assessment, decision, enroll.

Five Stages, One Path

Start here

Tour the campus in person or by live video — about an hour, most any day of the year. Most families start here.

Book a tour

Decision rounds.

Early Decision
Apply by November 1; hear back mid-November.
Mid-November
Regular Decision
Contracts go out in early February.
Early February
After February 1
Completed applications reviewed as they arrive.
Reviewed regularly
Wait Pool
Re-reviewed in full whenever a seat opens.
No earlier than February 10

Accepted families have 10 business days to submit the deposit and secure the seat.

What to Submit

Requirements vary a little by grade band. The application fee is $100, one-time and non-refundable.

Start the Financial Aid Conversation Early

Financial aid is not a stage — it runs alongside the whole journey, is separate from the application, and admission is decided without regard to it. More than $2 million in need-based aid is awarded annually.

International Applicants

  • International families apply directly to Saint Stephen's — no outside organization is necessary.
  • The school issues the I-20 form, certified to accept international students for study in the U.S.
  • English proficiency is required.
  • Students must reside locally with their parents or a legal custodial guardian.
