Meet the Staff
Rick Ellis is in his second year at Saint Stephen’s, most recently having served as Director of College Counseling and Head Boys and Girls Tennis Coach at Rocky Mount Academy in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Prior to working in college counseling, Rick spent eleven years in college admissions at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire. He was Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, and was given the Outstanding Counselor Award in the state of New Hampshire in 2001-2002. He also served as the Head Men’s Tennis Coach for six years, compiling a record of 75-33 while being named Commonwealth Coast Conference Coach of the Year in 2000 and 2005. Rick holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Colby-Sawyer, and a M.S. in Organizational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University.
Kim Lord is in her second year at Saint Stephen’s. She started out her career in education working as a Financial Aid Counselor at the University of North Texas before landing in the Office of Admission at Rice University where she served as the Assistant Director of Admission. Before arriving at Saint Stephen’s, Kim also counseled students at an inner-city charter school in Boston. Currently, she is a faculty sponsor for Interact, the community service club, and the Student Ambassadors. Kim obtained a B.A. in Psychology from Vassar College and an Ed.M. in Higher Education from Harvard University.
Carol Diamond is in her eighth year as the administrative assistant in the College Counseling Office. She is a wealth of knowledge about the college application process and also has a unique perspective since her son Eric graduated from Saint Stephen’s in 2003. Carol is responsible, among other things, for processing all applications and coordinating graduation and baccalaureate at the end of the year. She is the first person that students and families interact with upon entering the office and the person that many of our alums return to see. Carol has worked in education for over 20 years.
