Middle School (Grades 7 and 8)

Middle School provides an experience that nurtures every student academically, socially, and emotionally. Students are inspired to explore their passions, not just in core subjects, but through a wide array of innovative, creative, and enriching offerings. They dive into a curriculum shaped by their choices in languages, fine arts electives, iSTEAM courses, and athletic teams. This isn't just about learning; it's about discovering what ignites curiosity!

Our Advisory Program fosters essential life skills, focusing on leadership, organization, time management, self-advocacy, and conflict resolution. We also incorporate valuable lessons from The Social Institute, while prioritizing crucial executive functioning skills. Elective and iSTEAM programs provide engaging opportunities across diverse fields: Arts, Business Leadership & Communications, Engineering & Technology, and Global Leadership. The Middle School curriculum is thoughtfully crafted to prepare, encourage, motivate, support, and guide students over a two-year period, setting a strong foundation for their college preparatory experience in the Upper School.

Middle School travel is highlighted by an end-of-year Interim Quest trip where students visit incredible sites such as Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Canyon, Boston, Washington D.C., as well as locations here in Florida. For the globally curious, the Summer International Travel Program has taken students to Costa Rica, and we're excitedly looking to explore other sites in the near future, including Belize, Grand Cayman, and Puerto Rico.

Our dynamic curriculum goes beyond textbooks, immersing students in engaging, hands-on experiences that spark creativity and critical thinking. Imagine your child:

Our faculty is a cohesive team of experienced educators who deeply understand their subject matter and the students they mentor. These caring teachers adapt their lessons to each student's unique learning style, preparing them for the challenges of upper grades, college, and beyond. Every student also benefits from an academic advisor who closely monitors their performance and progress, ensuring they're always on the path to success.

Saint Stephen's is a vibrant, safe community where differences are respected and successes celebrated. Students learn the importance of giving back through an innovative community service program that dedicates school days each year to making a real impact. Whether they're donating to the Angel Tree Foundation, working with local or international elementary schools, organizing food for the Lord's Pantry, or packaging seeds for third-world nations, students discover the profound power of contribution and giving back to their communities.

Our "green" LEED-certified Sunlight Building is a testament to our commitment to environmental stewardship. Students are actively engaged in caring for the building and learning about safeguarding our planet. The centerpiece of the facility is the Wayne C. Rickert Founding Fathers Wall of History – an extraordinary, hands-on learning tool unique to Saint Stephen's. This striking display features reproductions of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, alongside a library of personal letters from historical figures, all set against murals depicting an unfurled American flag, George Washington crossing the Delaware, and the Founding Fathers at Independence Hall.

Middle School is where imagination takes flight and the future is built, one brilliant idea at a time.

Ricarda Gonzalez, Saint Stephen's parent

Enrolling our son at Saint Stephen's was the best decision we ever made. Saint Stephen's provides a nurturing environment and rigorous curriculum so that each child's potential is realized and goals are achieved. For us, there is no greater investment than the best education for our child's bright future.
